This work aims to report the experience of conducting Abayomi workshops, especially in the Sala Verde space, at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and at the Primary School América Dutra Machado, in the Monte Cristo neighborhood, in the city of São José/SC, in partnership with the Social and Public Management Workshop extension project, coordinated by Professor Helena Kuerten Salles. These workshops were carried out in the second semester of 2019, within the schedule of activities of the Tutorial Education Program (PET) Knowledge Connections - Urban Popular Communities, in order to refer not just to the teaching and appreciation of Afro-Brazilian culture in a playful way and participatory, but also as a tool that makes it possible to raise the debate on the racial issue, with children, youth and adults.References
