The object of this work is to report the benefits of using clowning combined with music in the care of hospitalized children as a tool for health promotion. Study of an experience report on extension activities, carried out by the Enferma-Ria Program: clowning as a tool in health promotion aimed at children who experience the hospitalization process and their families during the years 2016 to 2019. By exploring possibilities of interventions allied to clowning, considering the experiences and personal skills of the academics who interpreted the clowns, one can perceive in music a strategy that facilitates personal contact with the child and their families. The use of clowning linked to music, as therapeutic resources for the care of the child, are effective with regard to coping with the situation of illness and reframing the hospitalization process, which for many is identified as crisis that is difficult to accept.
