Emotions in adolescence: what lies behind a mask?

The adolescent phase, a vital cycle characterized by biological and emotional changes in the search for identity. In this context, adolescents go through experiences that cause a variety of emotions, This research is the experience report, and its objective is to describe an activity about emotions developed during the psychology workshop with the participants of the extension project Young Apprentice Feevale. The elaborated workshop had the purpose of introducing and emphasizing the importance of expressing emotions and searching for assertive ways of expressing them.. Through the construction of masks, the emotions most externalized were identified: joy and anger. Beyond emotions that they prefer to hide,: sadness, anger and fear. Redefining emotions so as each of them have their own space in the lives of teenagers may be beneficial to their development, as they need to experience all their emotions for a healthy construction of the self.
