Abstract

Considering the university extension as an important contribution to teacher education, the currently report presents, focusing on the teaching of Portuguese as a shelter language for the group of migrants benefited by the project “O Mundo em NH: refugiados e migrantes – uma questão de Direitos Humanos”, the soirees entitled "Knots" and "Ties", linking language teaching to identity building and to the recognition of bonds. These experiences form, transversally, future teachers, recognizing the relevance of the knowledge that students bring to the classroom, valuing autonomy in the teaching-learning process and uniting what is taught to the life of each one.
