Control del flujo saliva en personas con discapacidad neuromotor: un trabajo interprofesional

La sialorrea (escape de saliva involuntario de la boca) es comúnen personas com discapacidadesneuromotoras, lo que puede causar una disminución de la autoestima y elaislamiento social. Sucontrol implica terapia conductual y delhabla, uso de medicamentos, aplicación de botox y cirugía. Los Estudiantes Del proyecto de extensión “Atención Odontológica a Pacientes com Discapacidades Del Desarrollo” de laFacultad de Odontología de la UFMG y laAsociación de Rehabilitación de Minas Gerais realizaron una revisión bibliográfica hasta 2022, com el objetivo de proponer um cuestionario para orientar decisiones de intervención del flujo salival. Los equipos de odontología y logopedia discutieron la importancia de considerar La salud bucal, los aspectos psicológicos involucrados y el contexto social enel que vive el paciente antes de optar por enfoques radicales y definitivos. El cuestionario sirve como guia para tomar decisiones de intervención antes de adoptar enfoques radicales y definitivos.
