Resumo

From the constructivist perspective, both the diagnosis and analysis of students conceptions is considered the first step to reconstruct the school knowledge from them. The causes of students conceptions can be multiple, but one of them can be related with the textbooks. In this paper we analyse, by a questionnaire, the students alternative ideas about the energy and we compare then with the ideas detected in the textbooks. The investigation was carried out in three different schools in Badajoz (Spain) with first cycle students of obligatory secondary education.
