Sujeitos nulos: uma revisão do estado da arte

Resumo

Este trabalho detalha os principais estudos sobre a sintaxe dos sujeitos nulos e suas propriedades correlatas nas línguas naturais dentro do programa minimalista. Para tanto, são apresentados e discutidos os quatro tipos de línguas de sujeito nulo que descrevem o estado da arte das pesquisas empreendidas até então, nomeadamente: línguas consistentemente de sujeito nulo; línguas parcialmente de sujeito nulo; línguas de sujeito nulo radical (ou línguas de sujeito nulo orientadas para o discurso); e línguas de sujeito nulo expletivo. Considerando que o português brasileiro e o finlandês são línguas parcialmente de sujeito nulo, comparamos as (as)simetrias na sintaxe de sujeitos nulos entre essas línguas, com recortes ainda não debatidos amplamente na literatura. Indo além da interface morfologia-sintaxe, concluímos que os estudos minimalistas propõem que os traços formais (portanto, abstratos) no núcleo funcional T são cruciais para o licenciamento e a identificação de sujeitos nulos, inclusive nas línguas com orientação discursiva.

Humberto Borges

Humberto Borges é professor adjunto de Linguística e Formação de Professores de Língua Portuguesa na Universidade Federal de Jataí (UFJ) desde 2020, onde também atua na gestão da Coordenação de Ações Afirmativas (2021-atual) e do Centro de Línguas (2021-atual). É doutor em Linguística pela Universidade de Brasília (2014-2019), com estágio de pesquisa doutoral de um ano no Department of Linguistics at the University of Michigan (Estados Unidos, 2016) e cursos de verão em linguística na University of Crete (Grécia, 2017). Realizou estágio pós-doutoral no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Linguística da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (2019-2020). Coordenou (2020-2021) e agora integra como membro (2021-atual) a Comissão de Diversidade, Inclusão e Igualdade da Associação Brasileira de Linguística (Abralin).
