Lojas de Artigos Evangélicos: uma pesquisa sobre consumo religioso

Abstract

The text treats of an aspect still little studied of the already quite discussed evangelical expansion in our country that it involves the existence of a market of religious goods. The objective is to present some results of a research accomplished establishments that market close to “evangelical goods". As well as they frequent temples, the evangelical ones can frequent a commercial establishment, joining to his/her condition of faithful the one of consumer. In different depth degrees, observations were made in those establishments. With those data it is possible to contemplate on as they are organized those establishments, tends as central problem the relationship between the commercial and the religious. At the same time, they allow to draw a general profile (although no representative) of their customers and a characterization of his/her relationship with the establishments and with the objects in them marketed.

Emerson Giumbelli, UFRJ

Possui graduação em Ciencias Sociais pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (1992), mestrado e doutorado em Antropologia Social pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1995 e 2000). Atualmente é professor adjunto da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, atuando no Departamento de Antropologia Cultural e no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Sociologia e Antropologia, ambos no Instituto de Filosofia e Ciências Sociais. É co-editor da revista Religião e Sociedade. Tem experiência na área de Antropologia, com ênfase em Teoria Antropológica e Antropologia da Religião, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: religião, espiritismo, ensino religioso, pentecostalismo e modernidade.
