This paper proposes a reflection on the practices of participative web-journalism and the question of self-referentiality as a strategy to legitimate journalism as a field. It is divided in three parts: the first one approaches journalistic practice and analyses it under the logics of the media society and the mediatisation process; the second part approaches the notions of participative web journalism and selfreferentiality. It argues that the adoption of these practices of exteriorization of the journalistic practice. Finally, some questions are placed on what these phenomena of the opening of the journalism field can represent in terms of legitimacy/delegitimacy journalism as an institution.Downloads
