A Coluna do Castello: da instabilidade política à repressão do AI 5

Abstract

 

A Coluna do Castello, publicada no Jornal do Brasil de 1963 a 1993, constitui o espaço jornalístico de maior longevidade da imprensa nacional. Na coluna, o jornalista Carlos Castello Branco fazia relatos informativos, análises e previsões sobre os rumos da política nacional. Este artigo estuda, com base em análise de conteúdo, teoria dos gêneros jornalísticos e perspectiva histórica, os textos publicados na Coluna do Castello na fase inicial da Ditadura Militar no Brasil (de 1963 a 1967), compreendendo a preparação e o Golpe de 1964 e a fase de repressão mais forte contra a imprensa (de 1968 a 1973), com a decretação do Ato Institucional nº5.
