Periodismo, ética y propaganda en la Argentina democrática

A Argentina começou em 1983 um processo democrático depois de um século quando a democracia alternou com governos ditatoriais, em um processo de lento fortalecimento das instituições republicanas. Este contexto sociopolítico estabelece condições particulares de desenvolvimento do jornalismo no país. A marca autoritária ficou na cultura política argentina e ainda permanece no vínculo dos governos populistas e a mídia. Esta relação põe condições na tarefa jornalística mais sutis do que os métodos coercivos do passado mais tão eficientes quanto aqueles. Fatores como uso da mídia para propaganda ou dificuldades no acesso à informação pública constituem obstáculos para o livre desenvolvimento do jornalismo e mostram que condições próprias dos processos autoritários persistem na cultura democrática.
