Criticism of journalistic practices in the book by reporter: an example from the coverage of Palestine

Abstract

The current panorama of the journalistic newsrooms, in which journalists increasingly need to handle multiple tasks in reduced teams, is among the factors that can contribute to the critical reflection on journalistic making is left in the background.  On the contrary to this scenario, there are “books by reporters” (MAROCCO,2011; 2016), that open space to the critical interpretation of the journalists and the construction of an individual authorship. This paper is inserted in this context and it presents an exploratory research on the theme starting from the analysis of Viagem à Palestina: Prisão a céu aberto, by Adriana Mabília (2013), highlighting the endogenous and exogenous critic present in the book.
