Fascism: the extremist face of the right in the class struggle

Abstract

The article analyzes the current extremist trend of the right as one of the main challenges to the class struggle. The study proposes a critical characterization of the far right and fascism, going beyond the historical period of the 1920s and 1930s by examining their essential determinations. The first part reviews contributions from classical authors who analyzed the phenomenon at its emergence, such as Trotsky, Zetkin, Mariátegui, Césaire, Benjamin, and Gramsci, in dialogue with contemporary interpretations by Renton, Konder, and Mattei. The second part advances the conceptual differentiation between fascism, the far right, and the right, highlighting fascism as a mass movement grounded in a reactionary ideological base aimed at preserving the capitalist order. Finally, the article outlines the relationships between fascism, racism, and eugenics, considering its historical continuity and political function in the reproduction of capital.
