Contemporary Reflections from the Scientific Field of Social Work about Education
Abstract
This article considers education in social work by problematizing its relationship with current higher education policies, with the production of knowledge and with the thinking of researchers in the field. It is a qualitative study based on data collected from
documental, bibliographic and empiric sources, which are treated using content analysis. The first section presents a discussion about the influence of higher education policy on education. It then presents the latest thinking about the central focus of the article and
concludes by systematizing the contributions of leaders of research groups in the field.
