Adolescent and Youth Paternity: Debates and tensions

In Uruguay, there is almost no bibliography about the issue. In this article we present a general overview of the literature in Uruguay and internationally, found in the first phase of the study Making Adolescent Fatherhood Visible, conducted at the Department of Social Work of the University of the Republic, in Uruguay. The project questions the experiences of fatherhood of poor adolescent youths in Uruguay today. The article identifies some of the key points found in the current debate about the issue.
