Criteria adopted by appraisers of not-governmental institutions financing social projects
Abstract
This article discusses the main aspects of social projects appraisal against the background of a review of the pertinent literature. From this review, the main concepts and perceptions in relation to the appraisal of social projects are formulated. The ways in which appraisers of non-governamental institutions evaluate social projects are identified. Difficulties concerning project appraisal in relation to the three Es (Efficiency, Efficacy and Effectiveness) are found to exist in social sciences, due to (i) lack of theoretical studies and conceptual clarity, and (ii) lack of specific methodological procedures and strategies on which to base the appraisal process.Downloads
