The present analysis studies the current crisis of the capitalist society, asserting that it is a crisis of strategic dimensions. The author posits that the new world scenario known as globalization implies a breakdown of society's operational frameworks and substantial changes in most social practices. In developing the present study, the author contributes original ideas to the debate about the new social configurations and subjectivities, and the role of Social Work vis-a-vis these realities.
