This article analyzes the existential conflicts, which are studied as “fractures” of the characters, Luana and Gad, based on the dramaturgical work Um Judeu na Minha Cama, by the contemporary writer, Lília Silva, published in 1976. The term addressed in this article by “fractured subjects”, comes from the theories of Luiz Costa Lima (2000), the fractured subject is constituted by its multiplicity, by its cracks and concerns. It is not a ready-made being, but mutable as an essential part of alterity. The protagonists, Luana and Gad, experience these fractures and expose them, an attempt to understand each other's existential condition and escape unhappiness. Based on psychoanalytical and philosophical studies allied to literature, the dualism presented by the work reveals two antagonistic and preponderant conflicts in his theory: the first concerns man's blind and solitary search for happiness, as a form of self-affirmation of will. The second is opposed to this, as it refers to the fate that imposes suffering on people, which is one of the principles of self-denial of the will to live.
