Biografia do Autor

Stephen Turner, University of South Florida

Bacharel em Sociologia e Doutor em Ciências Sociais pela Universidade de Buenos Aires (UBA). Atualmente é pesquisador do Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET) e professor da Universidad Nacional de General Sarmiento (UNGS). Durante vários anos foi docente de teoria sociológica no Curso de Sociologia da UBA. Foi pesquisador visitante na Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y Sociales de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) e realizou um pós-doutorado no Instituto de Estudos Sociais e Políticos da Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (ex IUPERJ). Foi bolsista do CONICET, CNPq, CLACSO e da Rede de Macrouniversidades de América Latina e o Caribe. Atualmente é pesquisador visitante na University of South Florida e bolsista da Fulbright. Suas principais áreas de interesse são a sociologia do conhecimento, a sociologia das profissões e a história da sociologia. É autor do livro Medio siglo de sociología en la Argentina. Ciencia, profesión y política (1957-2007) (Eudeba, 2018), e de vários artigos publicados em revistas de diversos países.
