The artide presents a sketch of the genesis of political sociology at the University of São Paulo, especially in the sixties, suggesting that it was connected both to the tensions inherent in the academic context in which it was bom and to the effects produced by the the political polarizations originated by the crisis and overthrowing of the populist and developmentalist regime. It also sketches an analysis of the basic characteristics of that political sociology, mostly through the succint examination of"Dependency and Development in Latin America" by Fernando Henrique Cardoso and Enzo Faletto.Downloads
