Body image and dance: aesthetic perspectives for special bodies that dance

Abstract

This text reflects upon the image of the body in contemporary art and its relations with the field of dance. The special quality of bodies with disabilities can contribute to a change in the classic concept of dance based on choreographic works that encompass both organic conditions and aesthetic proposals.
