Abstract

The purpose of this study is to report an experience about the use of computer engineering tools to assist in the teaching of deaf people so that they have a more dignified life, without suffering the differences confronted in their daily activities. The goal was to develop a teaching system for the deaf that systematizes the teaching of the Portuguese Language, in the written modality, based on a perspective that contrasts Brazilian Sign Language – LIBRAS, and aligns its focus on bilingualism and biculturalism. It concerns the development of software using the Delphi 7 programming environment, together with the ergonomic criteria of Scapin and Bastien.
