Abstract

This article, which is a contribution for special education, express a reading about the difference in the context of modernity, bringing to present some references that a criticism to the supremacy of reason and the idea of progress defended specially by science. It shows some contradictions present in the project of this modernity; particularly the ones that refer to the way many social groups marked by singularity have been excluded from the processo Related in a comprehension of modenity as a movement plus uncertainty (Balandier), the text has the pretension to provole the debate and clearly show the uncertain..ty that come from my uneasiness as an educator, in the sense of opening to discussion the issue of the differencethat has been conceived and practiced in the last centuries.
