Revelação diagnóstica da deficiência mental e cotidiano familiar

Abstract

In this article is discussed the problem of the diagnostic revelation and the etiology of the mental deficiency in the parents' future actions. The results are part of the research entitled "The carrier of deep mental deficiency in the mother's conception ". The data collected through semi-structured interview aim that the initial reactions to the discovery of the deficiency are linked to two actors, the loss of a idealized son and the fear of unknown. About the etiology is verified that the mothers justified themselves describing facts that exempt them of the responsibility of having caused the son 's deficiency.
