Abstract

For this article, at first, we situate the emergence of concepts Blackness, Black Experience and intersectionalities in the context of the history of black feminist thought in the United States. Then, considering that bell hooks and Patricia Collins elaborated analyzes and theoretical reflections on black men and masculinities from an intersectional perspective, we seek score with other authors in Brazil and abroad, how mobilized ideas and perspectives of analyzes that are binding or not in connection with the theoretical positions of both authors. Finally, our interest is to become evident in need of discussion of stereotypes that can contribute to the construction of other senses, other narratives, other versions on the chosen debate.

Monica Prates Conrado, Universidade Federal do Pará

Possui Graduação em Ciências Sociais pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1990) e Doutorado em Sociologia pela Universidade de São Paulo (2001). Atualmente é professora Associada II da Universidade Federal do Pará atuando como docente na Graduação na Faculdade de Ciências Sociais, na Pós-Graduação em Sociologia e Antropologia e no Mestrado em Direitos Humanos do Curso de Pós-Graduação em Direito. Doutorado em Sociologia pela Universidade de São Paulo. Possui Pós-Doutorado em Antropologia pela Universidade de York, Toronto, Canadá. Visiting Professor at Centre for Research on Latin America and the Caribbean - CERLAC (2014). Tem experiência na área de Sociologia, Antropologia e Direitos Humanos.
