Revisitando a Victor Hugo para conocer a los trabajadores del mar del Siglo XXI

En el contexto del septuagésimo aniversario de la publicación del clásico Los Trabajadores del Mar, de Victor Hugo, el ensayo tiene como objetivo resaltar y analizar a quienes trabajaron y trabajan en el mar, respectivamente, en los siglos XIX y XXI, teniendo como eje analítico y comparativo las características del trabajo realizado en ambos períodos. El ensayo está estructurado en dos partes. En la primera parte se buscó destacar a los trabajadores del mar en los siglos XIX y XXI. La siguiente sección se analiza y compara las características de las actividades marítimas en los dos períodos considerados para identificar sus recurrencias y singularidades. A lo largo del análisis y la comparación, también se discuten cuestiones relacionadas con la seguridad, las horas de trabajo, el permiso familiar, las condiciones de comodidad y la presencia de mujeres como parte de los equipos de mercantes y buques de guerra.
