Collaborative research networks are essential for the development and dissemination of knowledge. Over the last decade, electronic literature studies in Latin America have benefited from the emergence of these networks, which have raised the international profile of the region's diverse research and creative activity. In this article, we discuss the impact of such collaborative initiatives on the development of electronic literature in Mexico. First, we address the current situation of this artistic practice and related literary studies in the country. Second, we discuss the impact that collaborative networks have had on the teaching of electronic literature at the university level. Finally, we present an ongoing project that aims to collaboratively create a Chronology of Electronic Literature in Mexico. The presentation of these three points has revealed that multidisciplinary practice, intergenerational dialogue, and the social impact of academic research are key to strengthening and evolving research and collaboration networks around electronic literature and other disciplines.
