This article presents and analyses three pedagogical experiences introducing digital literature in Portuguese Secondary Education, carried out within the project “Introduction to Digital Literature in Elementary and Secondary Education” (IDLESE). Two student teachers and one experienced teacher developed classroom activities with 11th and 12th grade students in schools in Coimbra, exploring digital works in connection with prescribed literary texts. The teaching units focused on the digital remediation of Fernando Pessoa’s poem “D. Dinis” and on the interactive work Loss of Grasp by Serge Bouchardon, placed in dialogue with canonical texts by Garrett and Saramago. Results show that students responded positively to digital reading, valuing interactivity and multimodality, and recognising digital literature as a tool that enhances the comprehension of prescribed literary texts. Logistical and time constraints encountered during implementation are also discussed, along with recommendations for future experiences.
