Methodological proposal centered on imagery collections processually conducted by a media diary. Reviews the use of images as a portrait and self-portrait technique in a supposed media ethnography. It suggests, thus, that through the memory of experiences constructed in media devices, photographic images, images of images and graphical images figure qualitative data. Interactions initiated via WhatsApp imagetic features are the cutout empirical for the application of media diaries. Investigates deep mediatized instant messages exchanged for technical functionality of "status" along carnival Brazilian. Political resistance and carnival joy are the subject of strategies of imagetic attraction of representative political scenes. The technical functionality analyzed in the media diary reflects the capturing momentum of the attention of a mediatized face-to-face game simulator.
