In 2017, after beating Hodgkin's lymphoma for the second time, Nanni Moretti shot a short film featuring different situations wearing a radiation therapy mask. We started from the autobiographical nature and analyzed the making of the short and its dissemination on Instagram, taking into account the filmography of the director, in which Dear diary (1993) marks an important moment and enshrines the episodic format, the confession, the ambulation of the protagonist in Rome and the reflection on the manifestations of the artist and the intellectual. We investigated the resignification of these bases in the short film whose protagonist is a faceless man who does not seem to cause strangeness. We explore points of dialogue between traditional image formats and the current possibilities of the imaginary through apparent naturalness, the relationship with memory, the exercise of the profession, the fragility of the body, pushed to the limit.
