Abstract

This essay is a detailed review of Quando assim termino o nunca... (2008) of Wilton Azevedo, double work that includes a DVD with 18 videopoems (also named as interpoemas by the author) and a CD with 14 sound poems. The relations between several parts of the work are analyzed: booklet, interface/menu and an identified “playlist” (material elements for access); title, indexes, “Introducción”, “créditos”, interpoemas, sound poems and poetic texts (elements of the artistic structure in itself). A special attention is dedicated to the place of natural language, writing and litterary skills with words, as matrixes that generate the work, understanding them in the digital context and in their interactions with sound and video discourses. In this way, the poetic dimension of textual and oral language interweaves with the particulad dynamics of digital media, such as the creative delay identified by Wilton Azevedo, or the opposition between information-noise, pointed by Philippe Bootz in the foreword. Of the 18 interpoemas only a few were chosen to be appraised in depth, due to the complexity of their construction.

Rodolfo Mata, Instituto de Investigaciones Filológicas Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM)

Rodolfo Mata (Ciudad de México, 1960) es investigador en el Centro de Estudios Literarios del Instituto de Investigaciones Filológicas y profesor en el Posgrado en Letras en la UNAM. Ha publicado diversos trabajos en torno a José Juan Tablada y los aspectos visuales de su poesía, como Li-Po y otros poemas. Edición facsimilar (2017), y a las relaciones entre las vanguardias literarias y la ciencia, y la literatura en medios digitales, como el volumen Las vanguardias literarias latinoamericanas y la ciencia (2003) y el ensayo “Divulgación de la ciencia: traducción, surrealismo y (auto) biografía” (2014). Ha traducido a escritores brasileños como Haroldo de Campos, Paulo Leminski, Sebastião Uchoa Leite, Rubem Fonseca y Dalton Trevisan, y es coautor con Regina Crespo de las antologías Ensayistas brasileños: literatura, cultura y sociedad (2005) y Alguna poesía brasileña 1963-2007 (2009, reed. 2014). Como poeta ha publicado los libros Parajes y paralajes (1998), Temporal (2008), Qué decir (2011) y Nuestro nombre (2015); el poema electrónico Silencio vacío (2014) y la plaquette Doble naturaleza (2015).
