Digital reading is performed by children, since an early age, through portable and multifunctional devices, such as tablets and smartphones, which are increasingly owned by the children themselves and not by their parents. Given this reality of digital reading experience, this article seeks from national and international research data to understand the phenomenon through the ability to read multimodal texts and by the ways that young children construct the meaning of digital texts read. Digital literacy skills can be learned by children since an early age, so that they can construct the meaning of digitized and digital texts in a more competent manner.References
