Construções-wh no português brasileiro: “gêmeos“ (doublets) sintáticos ou variação estilística

Este capítulo apresenta minha visão geral dos estudos diacrônicos e sincrônicos sobre as construções-wh no português brasileiro e discute o problema instigante dos aparentes “gêmeos” sintáticos, ou da opcionalidade, nesse domínio. Contudo, uma análise cuidadosa da ordem diacrônica em que esses padrões emergem, bem como da variação exibida em corpora contemporâneos, escritos e falados, leva-nos a concluir que os padrões coocorrentes não constituem “gêmeos” sintáticos.
