Relative clauses represent an important field to be explored in syntax. In this way, this work aims to analyze headed relative clauses in Brazilian Portuguese written data, verifying changes that it has been suffering. For this, 176 clauses from the Lacio-Ref Project were analyzed trying to verify which relativization strategy is more used in writing and then compare the results with other researches that were developed in this subject. The results show the standard relative clause strategy is more used in the data, which agrees with Bagno (2001) and Souza (2006). Through this work, it can be asserted that, despite great modifications in the language, there is still great worry about the standard form in journalistic productions.
