Peer review process

Peer Review Process

  • Submitted articles are evaluated by professionals with recognized expertise, and each manuscript is reviewed by three referees. The authors' data are kept confidential, as well as the reviewers' names, in order to ensure impartiality (Ensuring a Double-Blind Peer Review).
  • The evaluation results can be of three types: a) accepted in full without restrictions, b) rejected – not approved for publication, and c) accepted with some modifications. In the latter case, peer review determined that the article can be published if the author makes some suggested changes. The author may accept or decline the suggestions; however, rejection implies refusal to publish the article. If the author agrees to revise the article according to the reviewers’ suggestions, it will be submitted to another peer review.

    Criteria for article evaluation:
    1. Authors: professors, researchers, students, and professionals graduated in Industrial Engineering or related fields
    2. Scientific contribution (current and relevant topic for the field);
    3. Objectives (clear and well-defined);
    4. Literature review (reflects the state-of-the-art knowledge in the area);
    5. Conceptual or theoretical consistency (appropriate and well-structured);
    6. Research method used (clearly defined and consistent with the article’s objectives);
    7. Data analysis and results (correct interpretation of data and articulation with the theoretical base);
    8. Conclusions (based on research data, clear and objective);
    9. Writing and text organization (spelling, grammar, clarity, objectivity, and formal structure);
    10. Technical formatting criteria established by IJIE.
