Abstract

In addition to his work in the Brazilian literature, Erico Verissimo had an
important participation in the Foreign Relations. In O Senhor Embaixador, the
author mimics several situations of international policy and its clashes, from
the International relations woven the fictional “República of Sacramento”,
particularly with the United States, in the person of the protagonist, Ambassador
Heliodoro . In this work, we will examine how multiple representations
made possible through the work of Erico Verissimo, relating with Studies on
International Relations and National Identity, from studies as Robert H. Jackson
and George Sørensen (2007) and Montserrat Guibernau (2007).
