Abstract

Buenos Aires and Paul are two cities who became symbols of modernity in Latin America. The two cities have a special attraction on the authors of the 20th century avant-garde movements. In the decades of the 1920s and 1930s, two metropolises traversed a profound social transformation process and at the same time achieved the assertion as main centres of culture and intelligentsia of South America. The present paper is intended to establish a comparison of the urban ex-pertence in his literary modeling of two authors: Roberto Arlt and Mário de Andrade.
