Entrepreneurship and Innovation Around the World: The Role of Digital Transformation in the Development of Global Economies

Context: Entrepreneurship and innovation have become important pillars for the development of global economies, especially in the face of new macroeconomic challenges, the result of several global issues, such as the Covid19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine and the possibility of conflicts between China and Taiwan. Objective: From then on, this article aims to understand the multidirectional relationship between globalization, entrepreneurship, and innovation, with a focus on digital transformation, in a study that covers the continents Asia, Africa, North America, Central America, South America South, Europe and Oceania. Method: To this end, an exploratory, qualitative, and bibliographical research is carried out in the databases Portal de Periódicos da Capes, Ebsco, Scopus, Spell and Web of Science with the aim of identifying studies that contemplate the local development of the respective continent, through digital transformation, which emerges from entrepreneurship and innovation initiatives. Data processing takes place via Category Content Analysis. Results: The results point to the importance of innovation for generating entrepreneurship in the main world economies, bringing insights from countries that stood out on each of these continents due to initiatives to promote digital transformation for local development.
