ABSTRACT Understanding the Psychiatry as piece of control strategy in power and domination/submission of individual called ' crazy ', and as a new form of social perception of the experience of madness, then captured by the 'mental medicine' conceptions, the work "History of Madness in the Classical Age", of Michel Foucault, complete 50 years, revolutionizing our understanding about madness and the relations between reason and irrationality in the constitution of Occidental subjectivity. Through a different methodological approach, and proceeding to analyze and research the effect-instrument which is the “implantation of psychopathologic deviations” and its effects of power, deciphers as mental illness was produced through the psychiatric paradigm in its knowledge and institutions, transforming the individual and collective experience of madness. Fundamental also becomes understanding the timeliness of this work and its power to drive our ongoing transformations in the field of mental health, Psychiatric reform processes and innovation into policies and services that are being built by the relevant social actors in dealing with madness, seeking to produce a new social place for mental suffering and the different.
