Abstract

In a certain way, ali the accounting teachers know whích abilities the students of accountancy ought to acquire, but one wonders whether the contribution provided by each subject matter hás really been effective in providing a general view of its applicability. Multidisciplinarity searches for the interaction of several subject matters só that they can be worked upon in a cohesive way in the general instruction of the students. This can only be proved if the students have the opportunity to practice the several contents in sornething which makes a whole. The traditional way of teaching accounting is raising fragments of knowledge in the students' minds, or a jigsaw puzzle which doesnl work at the end; then old questionings arise on the reason for studying such or such subject matter. Such questionings arise exactly because the students do not get logical explanations, sometimes from the teacher him/herself who does not know where his subject matter can be applied or does not have a view of the course as a whole, or of the pedagogical profile of the institution or even of the professional the market is demanding. In a global world there are huge demands só that it is not enough to be a good technicían. One hás to be versatile, display general knowledge, know the laws and possess good logical reasoníng. Those items are of fundamental ímportance and should be added to the technical instruction provided.
