Apel sobre a origem da moral

Na primeira metade da década de 1980, Apel tentou situar a ética do discurso no contexto de uma reconstrução da capacidade humana de pensar e agir moralmente. Ao fazer isso, lançou mão dos resultados de ciências naturais como a etologia e a psicologia evolucionista. O artigo discute a tentativa apeliana de uma fundamentação antropológica da necessidade da ética. A primeira parte apresenta brevemente a reconstrução apeliana das origens evolucionárias e históricas da ética. Na segunda parte, tal reconstrução é parcialmente corrigida e defendida contra explicações alternativas das origens evolucionárias da moral.
