This article aims to discuss whether the distribution of vaccines against the SARS-CoV-2 virus in Brazil favored certain groups, in the light of John Rawls' Theory of Justice. Departing from the text “Where are the black elderly in line for vaccination?”, published in the Brazilian journal Carta Capital, which argued about the privilege that certain sectors had in receiving the vaccine in relation to others. The issue develops under the normative aspects of the theory and the strategic implications of the different forms of distribution, including those adopted in other countries such as Indonesia. In addition to the issue raised by the text, the discussion also focuses on the relationship between public policy thought universally or focused on a certain group and the consequences of these positions in the pandemic scenario.
