Health education with emphasis in gestational anemia in a family health strategy: a report of experience

The arrival of gestation brings peculiar changes to the woman's body. Gestational Anemia (GA) can offer risks to the health of the mother and baby. This work aimed to describe the impact of health education activities on GA in a Family Health Strategy of Montes Claros, MG. This is a descriptive study of the type of experience report carried out in a Family Health Strategy of the city of Montes Claros - MG, from August to December 2016. Health education activities were developed with emphasis on GA. There was good assimilation of the theme worked. The pregnant women present participated actively in the activities, asking questions and interacting in the illustrations, although the number of women was lower than expected. The importance of individualized primary care and the development of new strategies for greater reach with regard to the orientation and prevention of gestational anemia are highlighted.
