The objectives of the study were to identify characteristics of the practice of physical activities of schoolchildren at an Application Institute of a public university, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, after the COVID-19 pandemic and to reflect on future extension actions and pedagogical proposals for Physical Education for High School. 96 students participated in the study, considering their body practices through the application of the Physical Activity Questionnaire for Adolescent (PAQ-A) with responses evaluated both quantitatively (absolute and relative frequency) and qualitative. Team sports, fitness gymnastics, running and walking, as well as dance for the female gender were mentioned. A large portion of the students reported being very active in curricular and extracurricular PAs; few reported practicing PAs outside of school. It is concluded that the PSs referred to are the most frequente, have high adherence during PE classes, and can provide suggestion for the development of the Extension Project.
