Abstract

This extension project aimed to promote education about Human Papillomavirus (HPV) among adolescents aged 12 to 16 years at a public school in São João da Boa Vista (SP). The action involved students from 6th to 9th grade and was conducted by 4th-year Medical students. Initially, a questionnaire was applied to assess the students' knowledge about HPV. Then, an educational lecture was held, addressing the virus, its consequences, and the importance of vaccination. After 21 days, the same questionnaire was reapplied to measure the change in the students' knowledge. The project contributed to raising awareness about HPV, strengthened health education, and encouraged adherence to vaccination campaigns. The engagement of the school community was crucial for the success of the intervention, resulting in a positive impact on public health and students' quality of life.
