Housing construction at Laura Vicuña municipal school as practices of university extension

Abstract

This study aimed to report the experience of university extension in the Political Pedagogical Project Art in the Garden of the Municipal School Laura Vicuña, in the municipality of Alta Floresta, with the implementation of a school vegetable garden. The project was developed by students from the 5th semester of the Agronomy course at the State University of Mato Grosso, together with the coordinator of the School. With the support of the 5W2H Tool, the planning of all activities was carried out, always seeking to adapt to the school reality. Therefore, recyclable material was used to make the flower beds, integrating students and teachers, in the development of activities such as painting the place and planting vegetables. The results portrayed the vast importance of carrying out these activities in the educational training of children, as the vegetable garden contributes to the consumption of healthy foods, in the rise of values ??and in the enhancement of teamwork. Thus, these activities provided the expansion of socio-environmental knowledge among the various actors involved, as well as the learning of children about the importance of healthy eating and caring for the environment through the use of recyclable materials.
