“12&30" project: an experience report integrating karaoke and mental health at the university

Objectives: report the experience lived in the university extension project “12&30”. Method: The proposal was to create a space where people could express themselves through singing and maintain the aspects about their health . The project took place from 2017 to 2019 weekly on Wednesdays, at 12:30 pm, at the Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Mato Grosso (FM-UFMT) and was open to the entire community. Members of the Tutorial Education Program (PET) Medicine were responsible for organizing the events. Results: There were about seventy editions, the participating public were students from different courses, technicians and teachers. In 2020, a questionnaire, composed of 9 questions, was issued to improve the project. There were 70 responses in this survey. Conclusions: the project provided and environment of well-being, in which many people accessed freely and spontaneously to relieve some of their daily stress.
