Social Design: development of a categorization toy for children

This article presents the development of a categorization toy for children aged 4 to 5, focusing on cognitive development and inclusion in interactive activities with classmates, from the perspective of social design. Conducted in collaboration with NDI - Núcleo de Desenvolvimento Infantil da UFSC, the project used documentary research and design methods such as field research through interviews and observations to understand the demands of the public. The result is an accessible and easy-to-produce categorization toy, such as laser cutting in MDF, which made it possible to make the final product available online. This initiative seeks to improve children's experience by categorizing various objects in relation to scenarios, and can be used in both educational and domestic environments.
