Groups linked to NETI-UNAPI: characteristics and implications

NETI is an University of the Third Age that promotes Teaching, Research, and Outreach activities focused on the elderly, integrating them into the academic and community environment. This article identifies and characterizes the groups linked to NETI, analyzing their implications for participants and the outreach program. This research, carried out from August 2022 to June 2023, adopted three methodological stages: identification of groups; collection and organization of data; and analysis of characteristics and implications. As a result, 10 groups were identified, whose implications for participants include: continuous learning and skill development; cognitive and creative development; peer learning and collaboration; socialization and emotional well-being; autonomy and leadership; and intergenerational connection. As for NETI, they promote recognition and appreciation; diversification of activities; reduction of operational load; expansion of partnerships and resources; community integration; and development of studies and research. The groups impact the elderly and the institutions that support them, generating positive effects across society.
