Escrevivências: from daily racism to the ethnic-racial relations

In Brazil, the concealed presence of racism imposes on black people the incessant task of decoding the effects inflicted by violence. Faced with this incidence, the extension project "Escrevivências do daily racism" attempted to facilitate participants in an exercise in elaborating the subjective traits imposed by racial violence. For this purpose, we made theoretical considerations on the subject and using, at the same time, writing exercises. The objective of this report is to problematize a precise aspect that emerged in the first meeting of the activity: the interest and presence of self-declared white people in a workshop on racism. The option to open access to the course, without restrictions regarding ethnic-racial identification, allowed a change in the workshop's proposal, turning white bodies into objects of attention. We are interested in locating the displacement that, starting from racismo – understood as violence resulting from racial attribution –, led us to the broader and more complex theme of raciality in its relational dimension.
